The task

Read this email from your English-speaking friend Isla and the notes you have made.

Hi!
Are you free on 31 December? [Great!]
We're having a Hogmanay party at our flat, and you're invited. [Say yes, and why you're pleased]
We're going to watch the fireworks later, so what time can you get here? [Tell Isla]
Everyone's bringing some food. What would you like to bring? [Suggest something]
Isla

Write your email to Isla using all the notes. Write about 100 words.

Model email

Hi Isla,

Thanks for the invitation. That's great news! I'm free on the 31st, and I'd love to come.

I'm really excited about it because I've never been to a Hogmanay party. It's going to be very different from New Year in Quito!

I'm working until six that day, but my bus arrives at seven thirty, so I'll be at your flat by eight. Is that OK?

Shall I bring some empanadas? They're typical of Ecuador, and I'm quite good at making them. I'm sure everyone will love them.

See you on the 31st!

Love,
Camila

A ella: ¡Hola!

Saludo	Dear Mr Murray,	Hi Isla,
Agradecer	I would like to thank you for your invitation.	Thanks for the invitation!
Decir que sí	I shall be pleased to attend.	I'd love to come!
Decir que no	I regret that I am unable to attend.	I'm really sorry, but I can't come.
Formas	Sin contracciones: I am, I will	Contracciones: I'm, I'll, won't
Sugerir	May I suggest that…	Shall I bring…? How about…?
Despedida	Yours sincerely,	See you soon! Love, / Take care,

Cómo lo escribes, paso a paso

Subraya las cuatro notas. Numéralas: serán tu plan.
Lluvia de vocabulario: I'd love to, I'm excited about, I'm working, I'll be there by, Shall I bring…?

② ¿Unas 100 palabras (no 60, no 160)? ③ ¿Sin to después de will?
