Escritura · El email informal del Cambridge B2 First

The task

You have received this email from your English friend Kieran:
“I can't believe I'm finally coming to Quito next month! What have you got planned for us? Will I need warm clothes? And is there anything you'd like me to bring from Liverpool?”
Write your email.

Hi Kieran,

Great to hear from you! I can't wait to see you either. Only three weeks to go!

I've got the whole week planned. Your flight lands at 10.40 on Friday night, and I'll be waiting for you at arrivals. On Saturday we're having lunch with my family (my mum's already planning the menu, so don't eat breakfast!), and on Sunday we're going to take the TelefériQo up Pichincha. By the time you fly home, you'll have tried at least five kinds of soup. On Monday we're visiting the market in Otavalo. The bus leaves at seven, so you won't get much sleep!

As for clothes, bring a jacket. Quito is sunny at midday, but it gets cold as soon as the sun goes down, and it'll probably rain at least once. Don't forget sunscreen, either.

And yes, there is something: a Liverpool shirt for my little brother. He'll be thrilled.

Let me know if you need anything else. I'll send you my address before you leave.

See you soon!

Mateo Andrade · 170 palabras

Fíjate en lo que hace Mateo: ① saluda y reacciona a la noticia ② responde a las tres preguntas de Kieran, una por párrafo ③ usa el tiempo correcto para cada idea: horario (lands), plan organizado (we're having lunch), intención (we're going to take), predicción (it'll probably rain), futuro perfecto (you'll have tried) ④ present simple después de as soon as, by the time, before ⑤ cierra con expresiones informales fijas (Let me know…, See you soon!).

Saludo y despedida	Dear Mr Wilson, … Yours sincerely,	Hi Kieran! … See you soon! / Take care,
Contracciones	I am, it will, do not	I'm, it'll, don't
Verbos	Una palabra “latina”: arrive, discover, tolerate, purchase	Phrasal verbs: get in, find out, put up with, pick up
Conectores	Furthermore, However, Therefore	Plus, But, So, Anyway
Frases hechas	I am writing to inform you that… · I look forward to hearing from you.	Great to hear from you! · Can't wait to see you! · Let me know…

I am writing to inform you…).

Lluvia de vocabulario: anota palabras del tema (flight, pick you up, jacket, sunscreen, market, hike).

④ ¿Nada de will después de when, as soon as, until, before? ⑤ ¿Registro informal en todo el email (contracciones, phrasal verbs, Hi, See you soon) y ninguna frase de carta formal?
