There is / there are en presente y pasado
En A2 describimos lugares con más detalle y contamos lo que había antes: there was, there were.
⏱️ En 30 segundos
✅ Presente: there is (uno) / there are (varios) = hay.
✅ Pasado: there was / there were = había, hubo.
✅ Preguntas: Is there…? / Were there…? · ¿Cuántos? How many… are there?
✅ Con una lista, el verbo concuerda con lo primero.

¿Cuántos estudiantes hay en tu clase?
There were a lot of people at the concert.
Había mucha gente en el concierto.
Twenty years ago there wasn't a shopping centre here.
Hace veinte años no había un centro comercial aquí.
There's a sofa and two armchairs in the living room.
Hay un sofá y dos sillones en la sala. (is por "a sofa")
⚠️ Errores típicos de hispanohablantes
Was many people.
✓ There were many people.
"Había" necesita there + were (plural).
How many students there are?
✓ How many students are there?
En la pregunta, are va antes de there.
There was an accident yesterday?
✓ Was there an accident yesterday?
Pregunta: was antes de there.
In my city have many parks.
✓ There are many parks in my city.
"Hay" nunca es have.
