Passive forms: la pasiva en registro formal
En C1 la pasiva sirve para sonar objetivo, distanciarse de una afirmación y dar prioridad a la información nueva.
⏱️ En 30 segundos
✅ Infinitivo y gerundio pasivos: to be done, being done.
✅ Verbos con dos objetos: I was given a promotion.
✅ Distanciamiento: It is thought / reported / alleged that…
✅ There is said to be…: se dice que hay…
🇪🇸 Cómo se dice en español
I was given a promotion → Me dieron un ascenso
He is alleged to have… → Presuntamente él…
There is said to be gold → Se dice que hay oro
I hate being interrupted → Odio que me interrumpan

Mistakes were made.
Se cometieron errores. (evita señalar culpables)
The minister is alleged to have accepted bribes.
Presuntamente el ministro aceptó sobornos.
She was offered the position, but turned it down.
Le ofrecieron el puesto, pero lo rechazó.
💡 El "le dieron / le ofrecieron" del español suele traducirse con la persona como sujeto pasivo: I was given…
⚠️ Errores típicos de hispanohablantes
To me was given a prize.
✓ I was given a prize.
La persona como sujeto.
I don't like to be lied.
✓ I don't like being lied to.
Mantén la preposición.
It is believed to have been 100 people.
✓ There are believed to have been 100 people.
Existencia: there.
He is thought to escape last night.
✓ He is thought to have escaped last night.
Pasado: to have + participio.
